The C Major Project has some exciting things happening this year and we want to share with you a little bit about who we are and what we do!

We are a 501c3 Nonprofit organization whose main purpose is to compose new music as commissions for other nonprofit music ensembles or for charitable organizations. Money we raise to support our mission is given directly back to the organizations we partner with on specific projects. We manage this through a crowdfunding model where supporters of our commissioning partners help sustain our work and the ensemble they seek to support. Last year, we partnered with several schools and churches with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and we have also worked with ProLove Ministries and Students for Life at the annual Celebrate Life Conference in Washington D. C.

We are currently working on another large project with ProLove Ministries with a performance slated for September 12, 2025. Our genesis work Requiem for the Unborn is in production for another concert performance, this time with a special keynote address from CEO and Founder of ProLove Ministries, Dr. Abby Johnson! And this summer we will once again be helping at the annual Celebrate Life Conference in Washington D. C.
The name The C Major Project was chosen for our organization firstly, because it is recognizable as a musical term: the most basic of all the music keys, the key in which most everyone begins learning music! The next reason, and why it fits us so perfectly, being a musical family is that it is an acronym of our names! So let me introduce the family behind the name: C M A J O R
C
Chris is the founder of The C Major Project and is the composer behind the music. He is also a choir director and organist in a Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. He and Mary have been married for twenty-five years.
M
Mary has been singing her whole life and also plays the flute. She loves to sing and if you happen to see her in the car, she will definitely be singing and having a great time performing for those around her! She keeps our social media pages up to date and records many of the music demos of projects we are working on.
A
Alex is the youngest of the kids and he is in 5th grade. He likes playing video games and taking our dog to the puppy-park. He can sing, and is learning piano but he really would rather play the drums (so he says!). Family game night is his favorite family activity. To keep The C Major Project humming he helps with small tasks.
J
Jojo (a.k.a Audrey) is the second oldest and is a music education major at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She began singing when she was about 3 years old. Since she was a baby, the immediate family has called her Jojo (her middle name is Josephine). When she’s not busy with her music theory and juries, she also helps with demo recording for our projects.
O
Olivia is in homeschool tenth grade and is the third oldest. She also likes to sing and is learning how to play the acoustic guitar. She also likes the visual arts, especially drawing. Because of this talent, she helps us with graphic design and marketing.
R
Ryan is the oldest and is currently in college at the University of Saint Thomas in Houston, Texas studying Music Education. He works at School of Rock as a Keys and Vocals instructor. He sings, plays the piano and French horn, and composes music. He helps with data collection, analytics, music proofreading and engraving.
We are always looking for more projects and partners to collaborate with. If you are a director of a music ensemble or the director of a charitable organization and are interested in working together on a music project, let us know!
